Six Speed Tranny is a high energy power trio from northern Lake County, IL that covers some of the best rock songs from the past 50 years.  Instead of relying on gimmicks, Six Speed Tranny lets the music and the performance do the talking.  From rock classics from artists such as The Beatles, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin to heavy hitters in the 80’s such as Rush, Queen, Cheap Trick and Ozzy Osbourne, all the way through the 90s and 2000’s with songs from bands such as The Killers, Lit, Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Weezer, Six Speed Tranny’s set is diverse, rocking and above all, fun!  

The band was formed in 2013 with the initial intended purpose of just “doing something fun on the side” between friends and active players in the local music scene: Scott Georgeson, Dan Spannraft and Jason DesBiens.  All 3 musicians have history playing together, dating all the way back to high school with hundreds of prior shows and touring experience under their belt along with years of practice to perfect their craft, yet still bringing the same energy and passion to every performance.

In 2021, Six Speed Tranny accomplished another milestone of releasing their first full length album of original songs entitled “Chapter 1: Law of Existence”.  Throughout the album’s 9 songs, you will hear elements of their influences from hard rock riffs to tight/rhythmic grooves, dynamic changes and progressive elements.

Six Speed Tranny performs anywhere from 25-50 shows a year, bringing their brand of high energy rock n roll to local clubs, bars, festivals and private events all around the Chicagoland and Milwaukee area. Some past performances include the Lake County Fair, Libertyville Days, Vernon Hills Days, Grayslake Summer Days, Antioch Taste of Summer, Lindenfest, Round Lake Beachfest, McHenry Fiesta Days, Cherry Valley Days, Summer Sunset Fest, Maple Park Fun Fest, Rock the River, Mundelein Craft Beer Fest, and Grayslake Craft Beer Fest along with clubs such as Impact Fuel Room, Sundance Saloon, Broken Oar, Hard Rock Café, Mickey Finns, Sideouts, The Brat Stop, Blarney Island, KCs Cabin & Captain’s Quarters.

Six Speed Tranny is available for festivals, clubs, bars, parties and corporate events. We do our best to accommodate any size venue, group of people or type of event. With the wide range of songs in our set, upmost professionalism and ability to read a room and play to the audience at hand, Six Speed Tranny is perfect for any event!
